Sunday Love

This morning I woke up at 6:30 and I thought I would get ready and go my run. I heard that Jack was up and a part of me was thinking I would not be able to go. You know a part of my brain was thinking oh well ! no run for me today. Then after a bit I just decided that you know what I will get him dressed and get the stroller ready and he can come with me. Jack was super happy to get out the door. Just like me he loves spending time outside. I was happy to let everyone else sleep in and they did.
We walked to the local coffee shop had pan dulce and then made our way to the park. He was so happy to be out so early. Jack and I shared a cup of decaf and all I just kept thinking why did I think this would be hard because I wouldn't get my way, maybe I would be inconvenienced . Instead I got some miles in and a really happy morning. The best part was it started raining so Jack jumped in the stroller and I ran home. We got really wet but it was awesome !! Another thing I love about being active is it make the day feel lived.

Mommy Adventures

A day in the life of mommy adventures !!
One of my favorite things to do is to create an adventure day. I think its fair to say I don't like being home all day. I get stuff done around the house and since I can't really run right now to much because I just hurt. (not to worry that will change as soon as I heal ) I spent the morning completely reorganizing , painting and cleaning out the pantry. When I was done Jack and I went on a walk to lunch and then we decided to go the movies. His first movie. ( how exciting) They say you have to make your own adventure and it was.
I took the stroller and I knew little man would start of walking with me but our walk would be long and it was hot so the stroller would come in handy. We walked for about 30 minutes playing carwash before he decided he wanted in the stroller. We played  the alphabet game. We had so much fun and before you know it we stopped to have lunch. Lunch was also awesome . I find all these little moments in our day that seem to stand out. Time goes by so quickly it's almost like I am holding on to it as it passes through my fingers.  We walked to the movies and maybe this sounds weird but when you drive everywhere walking all day is really cool. The movie was a couple miles away so we listened to music and walked some more. The chances of making it through the movie I knew where slim but I thought the walking and lunch would make my chances greater of making through the movie and I was wrong. The movie was fun and we only stayed an hour and I did not mind leaving early. So we created our own adventure today and I walked 10,000 steps and little man when to bed at 7pm  because he was so tired from all the fun. Oh and my pantry looks awesome !!!

Mommy Adventures

My mini morning adventure :
Today was one of those days that I needed to get out of the house. I have a-lot of those days. I needed to be outside so as soon as I dropped of my older kids at school I headed home and got my stroller ready and set out for a long walk with my little man. He is no longer interested in the stroller but I thought eventually he will be. It was weird even though it should not be to leave my car behind and walk into town. We left early and we walked together for about an hour. We hit the park and then just walked. We walked by old buildings and under the freeway. We walked by people on bicycles , skateboards and every time we passed by a runner Jack would yell ," go runner ". We walked and he walked and then I ran for about 3 hours and then it was lunch time. We made our way to the Broken Yolk. I was starving and so was Jack so we ate like champions after all we walking people that a-lot of work for 2 1/2 year old and his 43 year young mom :).  We really did have a great time at lunch Jack was tired so he was so good. He ordered and said Thank you to the waitress. I felt very proud. After lunch there was the walk home but to my surprise I only had about 45 minutes to get home before my mommy taxi services needed to start. Jack insisted on walking so I let him and very shortly after he wanted in the stroller. "stroller mama" I walked as fast as I could. Suddenly I had to go pee and there was no bathroom in sight at the same time Jack wanted out. I told him I had to go pee and he said "run mama".

This is him running home so I can go pee. I barely made it and poor kid was so tired he fell asleep 10 minutes later. I like to think of mornings like these as my mini adventure morning. I looked at my watch and we walked 8.3 miles. It was fun and we got to spend the day outside. Most of the morning outside.
Happy Trails.

Mommy Adventures

Life is to short to give another minute to anyone or anything that does not make you happy !!!

This little guy and I went on an adventure this week. After running the Mount Laguna Marathon I decided that I felt really good about how well I know the trail. I have ran the whole thing a couple times and I bought a map so I felt ready. I put my fear aside and put on the Osprey back pack with Jack in it and off we went. He is a-lot heavier than I thought but I love a good challenge. We hiked 5 miles and it was not easy but it was a blast. I had such a great time and it went quickly. I guess I just believed I can't carry that pack and do it all on my own,  but hey I did and yes I can.

Jack loved it too. He loved pulling on my hair and when he looked up at the sky he yelled wow.. I took him out of the pack and he walked about half a mile with me and then he wanted to go back in the pack. The kids owns me.

So I learned that fear will hold you back from doing some of the stuff that could bring you so much joy. I know I am 42 but its a big deal that I took Jack all by myself on a long hike in the woods and we did not get lost and nothing bad happened either.. It was so much fun and we had a picnic too. I plan on making this a weekly thing. Life is to short to let my fears get in the way. So here is to me saying goodbye to the little fears that hold me back in a big way . Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you get a good long run in.
